We are pleased to announce a new online fundraising event that you won’t want to miss. August 20 – 31, you will be able to purchase gift certificates on this website for a midweek (Sunday through Thursday) stay for two at one of our three member-inns for just $150. Your stay will be in a room valued at $250 or higher. The beneficiary of this sale will be Take Stock In Children, an amazing Nassau County organization that provides mentoring, scholarship and hope to children of low income families. You can help change a life with your purchase. The gift certificates will “go live” in our online gift shop August 20th at 10 a.m. There will be 12 available from each member inn: Fairbanks House, Amelia Island Williams House, and Addision on Amelia. They will be available until end of day August 31st or until they are sold out, whichever comes first. Thanks for continuing to support our community fundraising efforts.
Gift certificates are good for a one-night stay Sunday through Thursday evenings in a room designated by the innkeeper valued at $250 or more, and are based on availability. Blackout dates will apply such as holiday periods and special events. Since these certificates are being donated by the inns, limits may be in place for the number of certificates that will be honored on any given night. Limit one gift certificate per customer per inn. The certificates will expire August 20, 2019.
Gift certificates will show up in the online giftshop at 10 a.m. August 20th. After that time, if you see your preferred inn in the list in the giftshop, certificates are still available. If you are planning to come to our Cookie Tour next Saturday, December 9th, we urge you to get your tickets now. We are approaching a sellout. As of today, December 2nd, there are a very limited number of tickets left online. All remaining tickets for purchase in person have been collected from all outlets and taken to the Visitors’ Center in the railroad depot at the foot of Centre Street. No tickets will be available at the door, and we will most likely be sold out very shortly. Tickets purchased online will be available for pickup on the day of the Tour at the Visitors’ Center. As of this morning, there were three Sweet Deal Packages available. This exceptional value package includes two tickets for this year’s Cookie Tour, our Association’s cookbook, and a gift certificate for a future midweek stay at an inn. As of this morning, there were two packages remaining for the Florida House Inn and one for the Amelia Island Blue Heron Inn. You can purchase tickets or your Sweet Deal Package online here. If your selected item does not come up in the gift shop list, it is sold out.
After visiting the inns on the Cookie Tour, be sure to save time for Dickens on Centre, a weekend-long festival that rolls back the clock on Fernanadina featuring characters in period costume, carolers, entertainment, and fun for the whole family. Tickets are now on sale for the 2017 Holiday Cookie Tour of Inns on Saturday, December 9th – benefiting the Friends of the Library. Ticket prices go up the closer that we get to the Tour, so the time to buy is now. Tickets purchased before November 1st are $20, gradually rising to $30 in December. Have you considered a Sweet Deal Package? The bargain price of $150 will get you two tickets to this year’s Tour, a copy of Sunshine Mornings at the Inns of Amelia Island, the Association’s cookbook, and a gift certificate for a future midweek stay at your choice of inn. There are only three Sweet Deal packages available for each inn – and some are close to selling out – so get yours now. If the inn doesn’t show up in the list, there are no Sweet Deals left for that inn, but you may select a different inn.
With the inns all decorated in their holiday finery – and sending wafts of freshly baked cookies into the air – the Tour is always the place to find your holiday spirit. Tour six Historic District inns on foot, or catch a ride on the carriages and trolleys that will be rolling by – rides between inns are included with your Tour ticket. Sample a different cookie at each inn, and take the recipe with you. Docents will be available at each inn to regale you with the history of each of these grand dames, as well.
Make a long weekend of it to enjoy the four-day Dickens on Centre, an event that has quickly become an island favorite. It’s a Christmas festival celebrating days gone by, sure to bring out the child in everyone. It all begins with a lighted Christmas parade on Thursday, the 7th, and goes through Sunday afternoon, so you’ll have time to see it all. Book your favorite B&B now.

The 2016 Holiday Cookie Tour of Inns was a resounding success. Thousands of cookies were baked – and eaten – many trees and tens of thousands of lights and ornaments were put up, dozens of volunteer docents came to help, and over 1000 of you came through to view our inns…. whew! With your help, we were able to present a check today for $4600 to Micah’s Place, the Domestic Violence Center for Nassau County. That is quite an impact. The Executive Director of Micah’s Place, Heather Jones, indicated that the organization readying their plans to add four more rooms for families to the building. None are happy for the need, but we’re all happy that an organization like Micah’s Place exists for those in crisis. We thank you all for your ticket and Sweet Deal Package purchases that allowed us to make this donation. We hope that you enjoyed this year’s Tour, and will mark your calendars for our next Tour on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Also be sure to mark your calendars for July when our tickets go on sale online at deeply discounted rates. Thank you all for coming!
The halls are decked, the lights are strung, and the scent of freshly baked cookies are wafting through our inns – all in anticipation of your arrival for our annual Holiday Cookie Tour of Inns. In a happy “first” for us, our online allotment of tickets are sold out, but you can still buy your tickets in person at any inn, the Visitors’ Center in the railroad Depot on Centre Street, the Fernandina Beach Public Library, the Chamber of Commerce office in the Gateway Center as you come onto the island, or the resale shop for Micah’s Place – Purple Dove, in Yulee. Tickets purchased in person today – Friday – will be $25. If you’re unable to get your ticket today, you can rest assured that you can still get them at the door tomorrow. The price on the day of the Tour will be $30.
Plan on spending some extra time here this weekend with the wonderfully festive Dickens on Centre event, inspired by Charles Dickens’ novella, “A Christmas Carol”. Carolers, storytelling, Victorian characters, roasting chestnuts, twinkling lights, festive shops, and even a pet parade will greet you this weekend. Mother Nature is even cooperating by sending us some “Christmas Sweater” weather, a perfect low 60’s daytime high. Be sure to join us for one of the best weekends of the year. Jump on the earlybird rate of $15 each until August 31st. Tickets will start at $15 each, and rise to $30 by the Tour, with stops at $20 and $25 along the way. They must be purchased online as they are inventory controlled and available on a first come – first served basis. It has just been brought to our attention that a recent article in the Palm Beach Post included an incorrect date for the Cookie Tour. They will be printing a correction, but if you are in the process of making your plans for the Tour now, please note that the correct date for this year’s Tour is Saturday, DECEMBER 12TH, and the time is from noon to 5pm. You’ll also want to note that the holiday offerings of our Historic District will be greatly enhanced by a new happening: Dickens on Centre. With a nod to our Victorian origins, you’ll find carolers, characters, and Claus greeting you all week long. Make your plans now and buy your tickets soon. See you on the Tour!
Smart folks and cool kids shop early for the Cookie Tour every year. If you’d like to count yourself among them, get your tickets for this year’s Tour by the end of September to get the lowest possible rate. Tickets are available for $15 each until the end of the month. They will go to $20 in October and $25 in November. You can purchase tickets at your favorite Historic District bed and breakfast, the Fernandina Beach Public Library, the newly-renovated visitors’ center in the railroad depot, the Chamber of Commerce office in the Gateway business park, or online here. Please note that if you pay by credit card, a service fee will be added to allow us to make the highest possible donation to the Friends of the Library, this year’s Tour beneficiary.
Even smarter folks take advantage of the limited number of VIP Packages offered for the Tour each year. Each inn starts with five VIP Packages – and once they’re gone, no more are added. These packages consist of a donated gift certificate for a future midweek stay, two tickets to this year’s Tour, and a copy of Sunshine Mornings at the Inns of Amelia Island, the Association’s cookbook. VIP Packages are available online only. If your selected inn does not show up in the list, all packages for that inn have been sold. Please read the details of each inn’s certificate before purchasing the package.
Tickets and VIP Packages purchased online will be mailed beginning in October. Don’t forget that the date for the Tour has changed this year; it will be Saturday, December 12th, from 12 pm -5 pm.
